I currently divide my time between collaborative photography and publishing projects, and teaching on the Documentary Photography BA and Photography BA at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, and with paula roush on the Photography BA at London South Bank University.
Born and raised in rural southern Germany in the 1980s, I have been living and working in London for over 15 years. My first contact with photography was through my dad and grandad, both photography enthusiasts, who documented everyday life in their communities.
My practice combines documentary photography, archival research, and dialogue with publishing; often working collectively and collaboratively. My main interest is in the city of today, its social spaces and the individuals and groups shaping them. I see public space and communities increasingly threatened by gentrification and marginalisation. My activities have fed into public interventions, workshops, events, exhibitions, collective action and publishing.
In 2021, I initiated Road Less Travelled Press as a publishing framework for mutual exchanges and collaboration, co-organising reading groups and publication making workshops.
